Searching
The repository allows you to do two types of search: a simple search and an advanced search. To do a simple search, click on Search the Repository in the left hand menu, enter the search terms you are looking for into the search box and click Search. Beside the box where you enter search terms there is pull-down menu which contains two entries: "all of" and "any of". Select "all of" if you want just the publications that contain every one of the search terms, otherwise select "any of".
To do an advanced search, click on Search the Repository in the left hand menu, select the link labelled Click here for an Advanced Search, enter the search terms and click Search.
Using the advanced search you can search for books and articles published in a given period by entering their publication years into the box labelled Date. Examples of how to do this are given below:
- 2002
- Retrieves documents published in 2002
- 2002-2006
- Retrieves documents published between 2002 and 2006, including those published in 2002 and 2006
- 2002-
- Retrieves documents published in 2002 or later
- -2002
- Retrieves documents published in 2002 or earlier
Browsing
If you don't have a specific idea of what you are looking for, you can browse for publications within the following categories:
- Year
- Author
- Section and Clinical Unit
Click on Browse the Repository in the left hand menu and select the category you wish to browse. The repository will then bring up a list of the different values this category takes (e.g. all the different Sections and Clinical Units). Selecting one of these brings up a list of publications which match this value.
